Playmaker Player

Playmaker Player was originally developed from necessity for use in product demonstrations and training for UDS software products. We at UDS believe software needs to become easier to use and more entertaining. To create interesting, complete and accurate demonstrations we used a presentation product that displayed a screen allowed motion to be performed and played a wave file. Originally this product worked well enough although it was a little buggy. We developed training video like presentations in it. Over the years new versions of the product proved to be less stable although enhanced in function would lock up computers to where the three-finger salute was required.

Getting software from a company that blows up your computer was not perceived well in our markets. Eventually we had to abandon those years of work in this product. If you want to crash your computer I may still have a demo I can send to you.

Fortunately at that time Microsoft started talking about agents and what they could do. We have been developing demonstrations with agents for a few years now. We have even incorporated the agent into our software to point to and tell you about errors in the information keyed into a window. Because no one reads screen messages agents have made our software easier to use. In addition we continue to develop a set of plays that explain the complex aspects of our software packages.

UDS Green Industry Software, Inc. writes high function Windows software for the green industry. We use VB in our efforts and partner with other companies to extend accounting applications into the visual arena (pictures). In developing these plays we have developed our own play script and script creator with a unique set of requirements. We call our script player Playmaker Player. We call our script creator ActivePlayMaker. We have packaged these products and made them available in an effort to create a computer industry standard play scripting language that anyone can use. Playmaker Player is free. It can be downloaded and installed from this and our other web sites at no charge. ActivePlayMaker is a tool designed to make creation of plays easier.

Learn about how to make your own plays by installing Playmaker Player. Once installed, play one of the demonstrations. Playmaker Player scripts can be modified using Notepad or any text editor. They are text files that end in .ply. Using Notepad and explorer is not easy when creating your script because of the position requirements of the fields. ActivePlayMaker is available for a nominal charge to assist you in this purpose. So we can continue development of this product this is a charge for ActivePlayMaker.

Plays can be used for any purpose. Show pictures of your kids and tell stories about them. Send plays to relatives and friends that tell a story. Letters with pictures can be animated and come alive with very little effort. Create complete business presentations that will play repeatedly with no effort. Playmaker Player provides this function. Start a business creating computer-based presentations for other companies or computer smart people.

Why should you use this product in addition to others that may be available? The Active Play system has a specific design point to meet a specific purpose. That purpose is to display pictures and tell people about the displayed picture in a self contained Window. It allows the window to be moved anywhere on your screen and any agent to be used to talk to you. The play will move as the window is moved around the screen. The user of Playmaker Player can repeat or fast forward past sections of a presentation by clicking a button. Pictures can be updated and substituted without changing the script. The plays can be zipped and sent or emailed anywhere. Play libraries can be expanded, combined and changed by simple use of explorer.
